In the 20th round of the Premier League, Arsenal went to Brighton and finally shook hands with a score of 1-1. After the game, Arsenal defender Carla Fiori spoke to Sky Sports to give an insight into the game.
Calafiori was blunt in expressing his disappointment with his team's performance: "I think we had the ability to do much better in this game and take control of the tempo of the game. Especially in the first half, we were the first to score and we should have added another point to our tally. Unfortunately, we were not able to accomplish that."
He went on to point out his team's mistakes in the game: "I don't understand why we made so many low-level mistakes, which should never happen. Perhaps we were too conservative in the game and gave our opponents too much of the ball, giving them the opportunity to counterattack. This is something we have to reflect on and improve."
Despite failing to win, Calafiori emphasized the importance of the team's mentality, "While this was not a crushing defeat, we can't ignore the problems that were exposed in the game. Now, we must move on and focus fully on the next game to win."
He also made special mention of the upcoming semi-final of the English League Cup: "In three days' time, we will step on the field again to face Newcastle United. It will be a crucial game and we have to give it our all to qualify. This is not the moment to think about the championship, we need to focus and improve our performance."
