With the new UEFA competition format kicking off, one of the marquee matchups that UEFA was looking forward to was on schedule: the battle between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Both teams scored in the first round of the competition, but the pace of the game was slightly sluggish. Arsenal made it a stunning double on the road against the last European champions Atlanta, thanks to the excellent play of goalkeeper Laye, and ended up with a 0:0 draw. PSG, on the other hand, won a thrilling 1:0 home match against Cimmerian Rona, thanks to an ouchie from the opposing goalkeeper.

As expected, both Arsenal and PSG have made good starts in their respective leagues, but they are equally keen to prove their status as Europe's top teams in the Europa League.

While it seems a foregone conclusion that PSG will win the Ligue 1 title every year, the departure of Kilian McBarbie has forced us to focus on their actual performances. As of now, they are still undefeated in the league, but just like Manchester City, we know that what their owners really crave is the UEFA title. Personally, I think PSG, after the squad changes, are more of a team that fights on the field the whole game. With big names from the past such as Mes, Kilian McBarbie and Nyema all gone, PSG is now more of a team of experienced veterans and energetic young players who are eager to take over the baton from McBarbie.

After the UEFA restructuring, this team might be able to find new vigor. However, they don't seem to have much luck in the draw. Facing strong rivals such as Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Sporting Club Madrid, and the not-so-strong Arsenal, they undoubtedly face a huge challenge.

Arsenal, currently in hot form, are eager to open the UEFA Europa League campaign. A marquee match will focus on Arsenal's right wing Bukayo Shaka against the left side of PSG's defense. Shaka, who has contributed seven goals in his last five UEFA Europa League matches at the Emirates Stadium, will likely face PSG's Lucas Bilardo in this match. Originally playing as a center back, the Brazilian starlet has only made 18 appearances, but has had to make cameo appearances at left wing due to injuries to Nunovendis, Lucas Brunandis and Pais Gamperbi. I think Shaka will make the most of it and deal a fatal blow to PSG with the support of the home fans.

PSG have beaten Premier League teams in the UEFA Europa League the last three times, including Manchester City and Newcastle, but have not won their last four European matches. This matchup will undoubtedly be a battle of the best of the best, and I'm confident that Arsenal will have the last laugh in this summit clash.
