Barcelona has finally secured the services of Daniel Omo, a 26-year-old Spanish international midfielder who will become the team's new highest-paid player. According to the plan, Omo is expected to make his debut in Wednesday's (28) La Liga match against Vallecano.
It is worth mentioning that Barcelona previously failed to register six players due to financial problems, but fortunately the procedures were made up one by one at the crucial moment. Omo, on the other hand, who has a transfer fee of 60 million euros (about HK$520 million), missed the first league game due to registration problems.
In order to help Omo overcome his long term injury, Barcelona made a clever use of the "injury clause" to register him temporarily until December 31st of this year. This is not the first time that Barcelona have temporarily registered Ronald Arnaud Ojo in a similar way to cover the absence of Eniko Martinez.
