La Liga giants Sporting Madrid are plotting to acquire the midfielder of English Premier League rivals Chelsea's Gunnar Gallicha. Once the deal is finalized, they will quickly launch "Plan B" to bring the 30-year-old Etihad midfielder back to Europe's top flight after a year's absence.

According to the Daily Mail, Sporting Madrid executives have made in-depth contact with representatives of Nicolajandi to explore the possibility of his joining the club. The former Chelsea star ended his career in England in June last year to sign a three-year deal at Saudi Arabia's Ittihad. Although Nicolajandi still has two years left on his contract at Etihad, it is estimated that his transfer fee will be much lower than that of Canagaracha, so Sporting Madrid believe that signing him will not be a difficult task.

Last season, Nicolou Gendi scored four goals in 46 games played at the Etihad and represented the French national team at this year's European tournament. His outstanding performances saw him voted Man of the Match in the first two games of the group stage. This is a testament to the fact that he has not aged well and is fully capable of taking his place in the highly competitive La Liga.
