In the late afternoon of Monday, La Liga rivals Quirona FC suddenly threw out heavy news: they decided to take Spanish winger Byrne Keil on a season-long loan from Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, a move designed to fill the void left by the transfer of Brazilian winger Xavier to Manchester City.
Looking back at the past season, Quirona reaped the rewards of their Europa League campaign with a ticket to the tournament, however, this summer, they have been faced with an unprecedented challenge. With the departures of the team's core players, Ary Garcia and Ngutu, coupled with the addition of Xavio to Manchester City, the strength of Kirona's squad has been severely tested. So, on Tuesday, Kirona officially announced that they have reached an agreement with 23-year-old Byrne Keil, and after the loan period, Kirona has the right to buy him out for a transfer fee of 15 million euros.
Byrnkill burst onto the scene at Westville three years ago and became an integral part of the team with his excellent dribbling skills and breaking ability. Now the young talent is set to join Kelowna and breathe new life into the team.
