Lowendi, the mainstay of Spain's Europa League side Real Sociedad, has been in the spotlight recently. According to ESPN, he is about to join another La Liga powerhouse, Sporting Clube, at the end of the season for an expected transfer fee of up to 30 million euros, with negotiations between the two sides currently in full swing.
The 27-year-old Lovendi has made rapid progress in the past year. Last season, he helped Real Sociedad to a 43-game run that saw them finish sixth in the league and reach the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League. Although Spain fell behind to Georgia in a UEFA Nations League match due to a mistake by Loveday, the overall performance has been widely praised.
