Manchester United are planning to put winger Glenwood up for sale this summer window period, aiming to attract giants including Barcelona and Real Madrid, sources have revealed. According to Spanish daily Sport, United have taken the opportunity to raise their price by offering a transfer fee of up to 58 million euros (HK$490 million), a move that has made things tricky for potential buyers.
Gullenwoodt has been in blistering form after his loan spell at Kitafi this season, contributing six goals and five assists in the league and catching the eye of many of La Liga's giants. In particular, the 22-year-old English prodigy is particularly keen on joining Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Interestingly, the Spanish media noted that United's initial bid for Gerlian Livet was 40 million euros (about HK$340 million) but then suddenly rose to 58 million euros, which caught the buyers off guard. Barcelona seem to have wavered in their determination to acquire the player as a result, while other potential buyers have jumped on the bandwagon.
If Gullenwood can move for €58 million, he will overtake Crowe, Bale and Lukaku to become the fourth most expensive player in United's history.
