In Saturday's (24th) La Liga nightcap, Barcelona recorded their biggest win in the last five months with a 4-0 victory over Kitafi at home and narrowed the gap with table-topping Real Madrid to one game, just five points behind. The win also cleansed the slate for outgoing coach Xavi, who said with gusto that the team still has a chance to come back later and strive for the league title this season.

Xavi made tactical adjustments this campaign, starting Rafin Xabiloni and the newly recovered Zuofelix. As expected, their performance lived up to the expectations. Only 20 minutes into the match, Raffinshabiloni broke the deadlock with a single goal. In the second half, Zoufelix scored from inside the penalty area to make it 2-0, before Raffinshabiloni threatened again with a pass to Frankie Dijon, who scored with ease.

In stoppage time, Rocky Ferrara had a one-touch chance but it was parried away by goalkeeper David Sulia. Fermín then added the conversion to help Barcelona sweep Kidafi 4-0, making it four wins and a draw in their last five league matches.

After the match, Xavi said confidently, the team still has the possibility of defending the title: it is too early to talk about who will win the title, we must believe that we still have the opportunity to win the title, I think we have the possibility of winning the La Liga title this season. Meanwhile, another title contender, Sporting Madrid, drew 2-2 with Emilia on the road, already 10 points behind Real Madrid at the top of the table, and played one more game. The title race in La Liga this season is expected to focus on Real Madrid, Barcelona and Quirona. Real Madrid and Barcelona will go head-to-head in April in a crucial clash that could be the decider of the season's title.
