At the crack of dawn on Monday (5), the Madrid derby resumed in La Liga. Real Madrid dominated most of the game at their home stadium, but were held to a 1-1 draw by Sporting Madrid in stoppage time. Nevertheless, Real Madrid still leads the table by two points, while Brazilian shot-stopper Younes Oszulia was injured during the pre-match warm-up and is doubtful for the top-of-the-table clash against Quirona.

Before the match, there was an unexpected change in Real Madrid's lineup. After Vinicius suffered a cervical spine injury during the warm-up, Zusano was scheduled to take his place, but it was only after the match started that it was revealed that Bacíndias was the first choice for the starting line-up. Bacíndias scored in the 20th minute to give Real Madrid the lead, while Sporting Madrid then went on the offensive, finally equalizing the score at 1-1 in the 93rd minute with a header by Marcos Lorandi, and the match ended in a draw.
