Monday dawned as La Liga saw a marquee matchup, with Real Madrid thrashing Villarreal 4-1 at home. However, the cheers at the end of the match did not cover up the serious injury suffered by central player Alaba in the first half. After a detailed examination, Alaba was diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee, and his season may come to an abrupt end. Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti announced after the match that he will look for a replacement in the January transfer window.

Despite this blow, Real Madrid's players still showed excellent athleticism. In the 25th minute of the match, Zudi Bininham scored with a header from a precise cross by Modi Cali. However, Alaba suffered an injury that forced the doctors to take him off the field. Real Madrid were not deterred, as Lodi Gorgos made it 2-0 in the 37th minute, and although Villarreal pulled a goal back in the 54th minute, Real Madrid did not give up, as Bacíndias and Mordecai scored to seal the 4-1 victory.
