With the passing of the summer sun, that once made the Bernabeu for the boiling Chassat, on Tuesday (10) in his personal social media platforms officially announced his farewell to the green field, drew the end of 16 years of career.
The 32-year-old soccer legend took to Instagram to share four photos, each of which captures the highlights of his career: from the glory days of his Lille days, to the moments of glory when Chelsea won the UEFA Cup, to Real Madrid's UEFA Europa League triumph, and the moments of glory when he donned the uniform for the Belgian national team, so that his fans were able to relive those unforgettable moments.
"Listening to my inner voice, it's time to say goodbye," writes Shay God. After 16 years and over 700 matches, I have decided to put down my boots. My dream has been realized and I have found my own fulfillment on pitches across the globe. Throughout my career I have had the privilege of playing alongside so many top coaches, trainers and teammates, thank you to all of them, I will miss you all forever."
