As the European transfer market comes to an end, Saudi soccer has set off another wave of transfer frenzy. They didn't stop because of the silence in Europe, instead, they actively extended the olive branch to world-class stars. No, just now, Atletico Madrid's Belgian international Enrique Carrasco became their new target. On Monday (4), Carrasco embarked on his journey to Saudi Arabia, where he will sign a three-year deal with Al Shabab club for a transfer fee of 15 million euros (about HK$127 million).
Originally, Carrasco was supposed to appear in Atletico Madrid's La Liga match against Xavier, however, the match had to be canceled due to inclement weather. This also marked the end of Carrasco's career at Atletico Madrid. Before he departed for Saudi Arabia, all the transfer papers were signed and the medicals were completed successfully. Upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, he was warmly received by the local sheikh.
