In the grand finale of the first round of La Liga, Sporting Madrid faced CF Granada. Although Sporting Madrid has brought in strong reinforcements to strengthen their defense this summer, their offense and defense are still rusty, making it difficult for them to deal a decisive blow to their opponents. Granada has returned to La Liga after last year's relegation, and often performs well against strong opponents. With a two-goal handicap, it is worthwhile to take a shot at a win for the visitors. Since Szémonyi took charge, the pressurized defense of Mathieu has become the team's tradition. Defenders such as Esperanza Gutiérrez and Soengo have been brought in this summer to strengthen the defense, but the midfield has to rely mainly on Kishavin and Ewalu Morada. Attacking power is not expected to improve significantly, and the team's strategy is also inclined to solid defense and fight for three points, so the handicap of two goals may be overestimated.

CF Granada was promoted to La Liga as last year's Liga B champions, and this "elevated" team has often played exceptionally well against strong teams, including a 0-0 draw with Real Madrid last April. In the last seven meetings between the two sides, Granada has only lost once by more than two goals, so the chances of a win for the visitors should not be underestimated at handicap of two goals.
