La Liga giants Barcelona have been in deep financial trouble lately, and the club plans to dispose of a number of underperforming players this summer to free up payroll space for new recruits. Winger Ferentolis is unfortunately the first casualty on the transfer list, and the club is ready to sell him for 40 million euros (about HK$340 million), catching the eye of English Premier League powerhouses such as Aston Villa and Newcastle.

Barcelona at the end of December 2021 to 55 million euros (about 470 million Hong Kong dollars) from Manchester City to buy Ferentolis, however, due to the failure to get enough opportunities to play, he last season in the La Liga League, although 33 appearances, but only started 14 games, scored 4 goals and 2 assists. The club is unwilling to keep such a "high-priced replacement", expect to cash through the transfer, ease the financial pressure, and even at the price of 40 million euros below the cost of the sale.

Despite this, very few Premier League clubs are interested in Ferentolis, with Aston Villa and Newcastle interested in taking him on but yet to make a formal move, both seemingly waiting for Barcelona to drop their prices further.
