Former Brazilian soccer superstar Marcelo, after bidding farewell to Greek side Olympiagos, was speculated to join Saudi Ainas and reunite with former Real Madrid teammate Cron. However, that did not happen. Now, the 34-year-old Brazilian left-back has officially announced his return to Barclays Premier League giants Fominis.
Fuminis announced on his official website, "The teenager who has traveled far and wide to win world championships has returned!" The two sides are said to have signed until December 2024, with the right to extend the contract by one year. Marzillo will wear the iconic No. 12 jersey.
Marcelo was trained in the youth camp of Fulmines and played for the team for two seasons in the Barclays Premier League before moving to Real Madrid in 2007, where he became a member of the Galacticos and spent 15 glorious seasons, winning six La Liga, five UEFA Champions League and four Champions Cups, among other honors.
After his contract with Real Madrid expired at the end of last season, Marcelo joined Olympiakos at the beginning of September last year, but his contract was terminated after only five months. This time, he returns to his home club, Fominis, where he will probably finish his career.
