After the introduction of Crow, Saudi Arabia's strongest team, Ainas, also showed great interest in Real Madrid's central midfielder, Chios. However, the German star, who celebrated his 33rd birthday on January 4, firmly refused to face the temptation and chose to extend his contract with Real Madrid for one year, hoping to end his career in a "dignified" way.

Yet Osborne is due to expire his contract this summer, but as of yet has not agreed a contract extension with Real Madrid. Many of the biggest clubs in the Middle East, including the glittering Ainas, are interested in signing him. However, Chios has made it clear that he has not considered going to the Middle East to "strike it rich", even if he is unable to play for one of Europe's top clubs, and that he would prefer to retire this summer.

Real Madrid follow the tradition of usually only signing veterans to one-year deals and have offered Chios a new contract for that year. He is considering it carefully and is expected to accept the extension if all goes well. Real Madrid coach Antonio Anzilotti has also expressed confidence that Chios will stay: "It's hard to imagine a player of this caliber retiring this summer, and I'm sure he'll stay at Real Madrid for the rest of his career, which is also his personal wish."

Since moving to Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014, butos has assisted the team in winning a number of honors including 3 La Liga, 4 UEFA Champions League titles and 4 World Cups. He remains a mainstay of the team this season, making 19 appearances in all competitions and scoring one goal.
