On August 30, the Telegraph reported that London's Tottenham Hotspur have taken a keen interest in La Liga star Carrasco, and both sides have quietly opened the door to transfer talks. Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, are bidding up to £25 million for Carrasco.

It is reported that Tottenham Hotspur has been praising Carrasco's all-round strength, believing that he is capable of playing as a winger as well as a wingback, which coincides with Coach Conte's tactical system. It is worth mentioning that Tottenham tried to buy Carrasco in January this year, but Atletico Madrid did not let go at that time.

Carrasco, 28, has two years left on his contract with Atletico, and as for the final transfer fee, Carrasco's contract includes a £51.2 million release clause, and the transfer fee is not expected to be less than that. And based on previous negotiations, Atletico expect to receive at least £25 million. Despite Carrasco being an integral part of Atletico's squad, the Bedlamites have had to consider selling the player in order to ensure that they do not exceed the La Liga wage cap.

Carrasco will be positioned as a right wing-back in Conte's 343 formation, competing with Emerson. Once the transfer goes through, he will become Tottenham's eighth new signing this summer.
