Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have agreed a release from their contract with central midfielder Anda Hernandez, according to an exclusive disclosure by French newspaper L'Equipe. The 33-year-old former Spanish international will be freed from his shackles and return to La Liga rivals Athletic Bilbao as a free agent.

Anda Hernandez, who played for Manchester United for five seasons, joined PSG as a free agent three years ago and failed to get enough attention. Last season, he played just 1,602 minutes, scoring four goals and two assists.

Anda Hernandez, who originally had two years left on his contract with PSG, had been asked by the club to move in order to cut expenses as his weekly salary was as high as 340,000 euros, otherwise he would be relegated to the B team and play in the fifth division. In desperation, he had no choice but to accept the early termination of his contract.

Anda Hernandez started his career at Zaragoza before moving to Athletic Bilbao for 3 seasons and coming into his own. He was then bought by Manchester United and began an 8-year spell abroad. Now, he is finally returning to his homeland to regain his glory.
