FC Barcelona has officially announced that midfielder Lecky Pecs will end his career with the team, having agreed to a three-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy of the USL. However, the La Liga giants have not completely let go of the player, as they retain the right to repurchase Lekipecki in the future, and Barcelona will receive half of the transfer fee if the LA Galaxy sell Lekipecki to another team in the future.
A product of Barcelona's youth academy, Lekipecki has represented the team in the Copa del Rey since four years ago, and was officially part of Barcelona's first team in the 2020/21 season, where he made 17 appearances and contributed a goal in the previous season. Given that Barcelona signed a number of new signings this summer, Lekipecki had to be a casualty in order to free up salary space for new players, even though he was only a reserve in the back line.
Unfortunately, despite being in the prime of his career, Lecky Peggy has ended up in Barcelona's USL, which is known as a "retirement home for stars", a decision that will undoubtedly have a profound effect on his soccer career.
