Speaking about Martial's transfer, Ronnie commented: "In a way, it's something I can relate to. I respect his thoughts, however, the club's situation cannot be ignored. We are facing the challenge of a new championship and preparing for three tournaments with ambitious goals to achieve. Therefore, decisions cannot be made only in the interests of individual players, but also in the interests of the club. As far as I know, no other club has made an offer for him so far. I have made it clear to him that if that is not the case, he will have no choice but to stay."
Ronnick has also spoken to France international Pogba, who has just the final six months left on his contract. Although the United boss has refused to comment on Pogba's future, he has said that he will not persuade any player to extend his contract.
Ronnyk revealed that Pogba will need at least two weeks to recover. "I've certainly spoken to Paul (Pogba) and we had a private conversation the day he first returned from Dubai. We also had a phone conversation when he was in Dubai." Speaking about Pogba's recovery, Ronnie said, "The most important thing at the moment is to get him fit. First of all, he needs to resume training before he has a chance to return to the field. This will take at least two weeks, and until then, my focus will be on other players who can play."
Manchester United will not be making much of a move in the winter transfer window, with Ronny Longnecker agreeing with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp that whether or not a player is vaccinated against the new crown will be one of the key factors in bringing in a new recruit.
"It's a factor that has to be taken into account and I fully understand Jürgen (Klopp's) point of view." Klopp said, "It also depends on whether you are willing to take the risk of a player not being available. This is something the club must think deeply about. If you know that a player is unvaccinated and you still choose to bring him in, then you have to be aware that he could be unavailable for more than a week."
