The international sports press has been making waves recently, focusing on a mysterious request made by the Jordanian Football Association to the Asian Football Confederation. The story stems from a high-profile qualifying match for the Women's Asian Cup, in which the Iranian women's soccer team won a spot in the 2022 Women's Asian Cup with a surprise victory over Jordan in late September.

However, the victory in the match did not quell the controversy. The camera captured the facial features of several Iranian female soccer players, making one wonder if there were male players mixed in. This doubt spread like a ghost in the soccer world.

The president of the Jordanian Football Federation (JFF) made a bold statement on social media to expose the controversy and claimed to have submitted relevant evidence. He called on the AFC to set up an independent medical investigation panel to conduct an in-depth investigation into the gender of the Iranian women's soccer players and whether there was doping.

This is not the first time that the Iranian women's soccer team has encountered gender controversy. Back in 2015, the Iranian women's soccer team was accused of having eight male soccer players mixed into the team, and a team photo at the time caused a furor.
