Sources at Spain's TV6 have revealed that FC Barcelona have not completely ruled out the possibility of pushing Dutch midfield starlet Frenkie de Jong into the transfer market.
If Coach Xavi doesn't give De Jong a big role and the player himself doesn't show further growth, then Barcelona's management may make a decision to sell him.
At least two European clubs are reported to have shown a keen interest in De Jong.
This season, De Jong has been as underwhelming as the team as a whole. In the eyes of the hierarchy, he is no longer an irreplaceable option in the team, but De Jong remains one of the players who can be sold for a high price in the current market.
