On Nov. 11, a news from Mundo Deportivo rocked the football world, as FC Barcelona had to make drastic adjustments to its lineup in the winter transfer window due to financial pressures.

The report reveals that while La Liga officials have announced that Barcelona's payroll cap for this season is only €97.942 million, a far cry from last year's figure of €382 million, and even far worse than the €671 million for the 2019-20 season and the €633 million for the 2018-19 season. Given the board's projected loss of up to €481 million last year, Barcelona's management believes that continuing to cut payroll is a priority and selling players has become the only way to do so.

Xavi and the new Sporting management have made a considered decision to put a number of players on the market who have made very few appearances, including Luke de Jong, Neto and Umtiti. Luuk de Jong was a last-minute target for Koeman in the last transfer window, but with Xavi at the helm, his future seems to have drifted away from the Camp Nou. Umtiti is looking forward to the new Barcelona manager, knowing that he still has a few months to prove himself and this is his last chance for redemption.

In addition to Luke de Jong, Neto and Umtiti, youngster Corrado is also confirmed to leave the team, while Neto's stay is still in doubt. Although he had already expressed his desire to leave the team last season, Barcelona finally chose to keep him.
