Today, Atletico Madrid made a major official announcement that the contract of the team's legendary manager Diego Simeone will be extended until 2024.
Dating back to December 2011, Simeone took over the baton after the departure of Manzano, and since then has started his glorious chapter with Atletico. With his solid tactics and deep team building, Simeone has led Atletico to realize a transformation. So far, Simeone has helped the team win four La Liga titles, four UEFA Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, one Copa del Rey and one Copa del Rey, and in 2016, he was honored as the IFFHS Coach of the Year for his outstanding coaching performance.

Atlético de Madrid Football Club has reached an agreement with Diego Simeone and his coaching team to extend his contract for the next four years, until June 30, 2024, in which Simeone will remain as the team's manager.
It is worth mentioning that Simeone is not only the longest consecutive manager of the same team in La Liga history, but also the coach with the most championship titles in Atletico's history.
