German soccer icon and central midfielder, Ross, has officially announced his retirement from the national team after losing 0-2 to England in the Euro 1/8 finals, even though the World Cup is still in the future. The latest information reveals that Rose has not only decided to bid farewell to the national team, but even the exact time of his retirement has been finalized, i.e. late summer of 2023, when he will be 33 years old. The German soccer superstar revealed that Real Madrid will be the end of his career and he will not play for any other team.
"Retirement? I think 2023 is a good option, when I will be 33 years old. I don't know if I will renew my contract with Real Madrid for one or two years next, that remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, Real Madrid will be the end of my career. In fact, the decision to quit the national team is one that I've thought long and hard about, and I've known for a long time that I won't be at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar."
In an interview with German media outlet Picture Post, Rose responded to the fans' harsh criticism, saying he had been treated unfairly, "I don't want to point fingers at anyone because there are still a lot of fans who support me, but there are also some fans who don't recognize the contribution I've made to Germany over the past 11 years. Playing in Spain has been a completely different experience, everyone has appreciated what I have done here since I arrived seven years ago."
Rose, 31, was born in the youth academy of Bayern Munich and returned to Southern Stars after making his debut at Leverkusen. Unfortunately, due to disagreements with the club's management, he opted to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2014 after helping Germany win the World Cup. In the last 7 years, Rose has helped Real Madrid win 2 La Liga titles and 3 Champions League titles. Under his current contract, Rose's deal with Real Madrid will expire in the summer of 2023, signaling that the German star will face the option of retirement when his contract expires.
