On June 24, La Liga officials announced that Espanyol striker De Tomas was named the Liga B Player of the Season.
De Tomas moved from Benfica to Espanyol at the beginning of January last year, and played 36 matches in Liga B this season, delivering outstanding figures of 23 goals and 3 assists, helping the team win the Liga B title and promotion to La Liga.
