Recently, the official channel of the French National Football Association released a funny video. In the footage, the traveling Griezmann revealed a secret to Mbappe: in the soccer manager game, he actually "transferred" Mbappe to Newcastle, and Mbappe's reaction was hilarious.
Soccer Manager is extremely popular among the French national team and Griezmann's club, and not only Griezmann, but his other teammate on the national team and club, Ousmane Dembele, is an avid fan of the game. In an official video for the French team, Griezmann proudly shows off his achievements in the game in front of the camera, having led Newcastle to five trophies. Nonetheless, when Griezmann bragged about his gaming exploits to the game's mastermind Dembele, Dembele simply responded tepidly, "Well, it's okay."
When Griezmann tells Mbappe that he is "transferring" him to Newcastle for 134 million euros, Mbappe freezes and asks innocently, "Where? It should be very cold there, right?"
Mbappe currently has just one year left on his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. In the real world, the team he is most likely to join is La Liga giants Real Madrid, not Newcastle. It's no wonder that Griezmann's brief words were enough to confuse Mbappe.
