As the season draws to a close, the Football Database has revealed the new edition of its club rankings. Chelsea climbed to fifth place after winning Champions League glory, while Villarreal finished in 20th place thanks to their UEFA Europa League crown.

As the European season comes to a close, Bayern remains firmly at the top of the table, having not only defended their Bundesliga title, but also solidly maintaining their lead on the European competitive stage. Manchester City, on the other hand, despite missing out on the Champions League title, were one of the brightest teams of the season with their league title and Champions League runner-up finish. Inter Milan, who regained the Serie A title, came in third, and Real Madrid remained in fourth place despite a four-way tie.

Chelsea won the Champions League trophy for the second time in their history, finishing in fifth place. Their performance in the league was not outstanding, only the fourth in the Premier League, but in the Champions League is like a fish out of water, and finally realized the "comeback". Chelsea are followed by Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, while La Liga champions Atletico Madrid are ninth and Ajax 10th.

In the rankings from 11 to 20, we see Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Atalanta, Napoli, Porto, AC Milan, Sevilla, Arsenal and Villarreal. Villarreal made a splash by winning the UEFA Champions League as seventh in La Liga. Equally amazing was Lille in Ligue 1, who managed to "bounce back" and move up to 21st place.
