La Liga is back in full swing, and star Benzema recently gave an official interview with a passionate preview of an exciting showdown in the upcoming Spanish national derby.
Benzema said bluntly: "This national derby is the world's top competition, and it means a lot to me and everyone else. Real Madrid and Barcelona, two teams with a rich history, are legends in the soccer world.
"The game will be a hard-fought contest and we will have to play with character and take firm control of the tempo of the game. Barcelona are also big on possession and Ter Stegen's great play is a big threat."
On his teammate Lionel Messi, Benzema even gave a very high evaluation: "Messi went all out on the field, we have to be vigilant. Messi is a very threatening opponent and we have to keep up the good performance from the first leg."
