As 2024 fades away, it's the end-of-year wrap-up time for the soccer world in China. It was on this day, December 30, that the Chinese men's soccer team officially unveiled the final results of all the 2024 tournaments.
Here's an overview of the 2024 CCAA Men's Soccer A-League campaign:
On January 13, China and Tajikistan played to a 0-0 draw in the group stage of the Asian Cup.
Immediately after, on January 17, China shook hands with Lebanon in the group stage of the Asian Cup, with the same 0-0 scoreline.
However, on January 22, China suffered its first defeat in the group stage of the Asian Cup with a 0-1 defeat against Qatar.
Entering March, China faced off against Singapore in the World Qualifier, drawing the first game 2-2 and winning the second 4-1.
In June, China played Thailand to a 1-1 draw in the World Qualifying Tournament, but then fell to South Korea, 0-1, in a June 11 match.
In September, China suffered a tough loss in the World Qualifying Tournament, losing 0-7 against Japan, followed by a 1-2 defeat against Saudi Arabia on September 10th.
In October, China met Australia in the World Qualifier and lost 3-1. However, on October 15, China turned back Indonesia 2-1 in the match.
In November, China first beat Bahrain 1-0 in the World Qualifier, but then fell to Japan 1-3 in the following match.
