After leaving Dalian to return to the Portuguese Premier League, Boateng returned to play for his old club Aviva, making 61 appearances over two seasons, scoring 13 goals and assisting four times. After his contract expired, he was rumored to be on the move in the summer with Sekacay Arabian of the Saudi League and Gaziantep Metropolitano of the Turkish Super League. Eventually, he chose to return to Asia and joined Sekacay Arabian. But the trip to Asia did not go well, he only scored 2 goals and contributed 2 assists in 14 games, and Sekacay Arabian hovered on the brink of relegation. In the winter transfer window, Boateng decided to leave the team and joined Gaziantep Metropolitano, which had been rumored to join him, and the two sides signed a one-and-a-half-year contract, and he will officially join the team on January 13th.

Founded in 1988, Gaziantep Metropolitano has been playing in Turkey's second division, the Turkish Liga, since the 2005/2006 season. After years of hard work, it was successfully promoted to the top division in the 2018/2019 season. Currently, the team has a record of 6 wins, 3 draws, and 7 losses in the season, and is temporarily in the 8th place in the league. We wish Boateng great success in the sixth leg of his career!
