As night falls, the Brazilian soccer world is in a state of flux. An explosive news quickly spread across social media: Oscar, the former golden boot of the Chinese Super League, will renew his relationship with São Paulo!

According to Uriel Iugt of São Paulo Sport, just hours ago, Oscar had an intensive communication with São Paulo FC and the two sides finally finalized the joining of the club. He will return as a free agent with a three-year contract with São Paulo until the end of 2027.

Global Sports further revealed that Oscar's arrival is crucial to São Paulo's performance this season. The fireworks of the negotiations have been heating up since early December, and the team's head coach, Zubeldia, took it upon himself to have an in-depth 30-minute exchange with Oscar.

However, Oscar's departure was not without its ripples. According to Song Chengliang of Oriental Sports Daily, Shanghai Harbor had thrown Oscar a contract extension worth US$3 million before tax, just waiting for his signature. But the huge difference between the two sides on the terms of the contract made Oscar feel difficult to choose psychologically.

Since joining Shanghai Seaport, Oscar has made 248 appearances for the team, scoring 77 goals and assisting 141 times, helping the team win three Chinese Super League crowns (2018, 2023, 2024) as well as one Super Cup distinction (2019).
