Stirring change! On December 16th, UEFA made a major announcement that the prize pool for the UEFA Women's EURO 2025 has taken a historic leap forward. On Monday, the UEFA Executive Committee in Lausanne, Switzerland, decisively approved a prize pool of 41 million euros for UEFA EURO 2025, a surge of 156% compared to 2022, demonstrating UEFA's support for women's football.

Of the huge prize fund, all 16 teams will receive a share of the €1.8 million participation fee, with the winner of the group stage receiving an additional €100,000, and the tie-breakers receiving €50,000 each. It is worth noting that the teams that advance to the knockout rounds will also receive incremental bonuses, as follows:

Journey to the Top 8: additional Euro 550,000

Final Four: additional €700,000

Runner-up distinction: additional €850,000

Champion's Pride: additional 1.75 million euros

If a team emerges from the group stage, its prize money can total a mind-boggling €1.8 + 30 + 55 + 70 + 175 = €5.1 million.

It is worth mentioning that the clubs to which the players belong will also receive more subsidies, with benefits raised to 6 million euros, which is undoubtedly a major incentive for clubs to support the development of women's football. UEFA officials said the move reflects its strong commitment to the development of women's soccer in Europe.
