Today, the Japanese women's national soccer team welcomed a new face - Danish coach Nils NIELSEN officially took office. The 53-year-old soccer veteran had a rich resume before taking the helm of the Japanese women's soccer team.

Having served as the technical director of Manchester City Women's Football, Nielsen's footballing acumen shines through. Prior to that, he also took charge of the Swiss women's soccer team and the Danish women's soccer team as a coach, and his excellent tactical arrangement and team building ability enabled the Danish women's soccer team to successfully rank among the quarterfinals of the 2017 Women's UEFA European Cup. It is worth mentioning that in 2018, Nielsen also briefly served as an assistant coach for the Chinese women's soccer team's U20 national team, gaining valuable international experience.

Looking back at the history of the Japanese women's national soccer team, after the Paris Olympics, the team failed to renew the contract of former head coach Mrs. Ikeda. For the next four months, the team was left without a head coach. It wasn't until October-November that Japan Women's Football Committee chairman Tsuneo Sasaki was appointed to temporarily fill the vacancy.
