Today, Jeju United FC announced a news that shook the soccer world: 35-year-old legendary player, former core of the South Korean national team, Goo Si-chul, officially hung up his boots and retired.

Looking back at the career of Koo Si-chul, he joined Jeju United in 2007, which started his legendary journey in Korean soccer. Since then, he has also traveled to Germany to play for Wolfsburg, Augsburg and Mainz, before returning to Jeju United again in 2022. However, he has only played three league games for the team this season due to injury.

Goh made his debut for the national team at the 2008 East Asian Cup, facing China. He made 76 appearances for the South Korean national team in his career, scoring a whopping 19 goals, and played in three consecutive Asian Cups and two World Cups.In 2011, he was awarded the Golden Boot of the Asian Cup.After the 2019 Asian Cup, Gwiz Chul announced his retirement from the national team.
