On May 28, 2005, Wafangdian welcomed the birth of Mao Weijie. Since his childhood, he was sent to Ganjingzi Sports School for further study, and his path to soccer began. Dalian Yixing (formerly known as Dalian Yingbo and Dalian Zhixing), under the careful cultivation of coach Yu Peng, the youth team rose to form the Dalian Yixing ladder. Coach Li Guoxu recognized his talent and included Mao Weijie in the first team, opening a new chapter for him in the professional league.
On June 10, 2024, the U19 National Football Team won the Weinan Four Nations Tournament with an overwhelming victory over the South Korean U19 Men's Football Team. Three rising stars from Dalian Yingbo, Mao Weijie, Huang Shan and Qu Geping, shared the honor.
Qu Geping, who was born on March 27, 2005, and Huang Shan, who was born on March 23, 2006, are both playing for Dalian Yingbo in the Central League this season.
On November 13, 2024, the U19 National Football Team swept the Mongolia U19 Men's Football Team 6-0 in the first round of the Panda Cup International Football Invitation Tournament. Zhu Pengyu showed his strength by scoring twice in the first half alone.
