On March 10, Football Daily revealed that on March 9, Chongqing Tongliang Dragons started their journey for the 2025 season of China's First Division League. The new investor together with the new coaching staff and all members of the first team were unveiled, and the club's general manager, Li Ping, made a military order at the departure ceremony - the results of the new season will be at least no worse than last year.

At the beginning of 2025, with the new owner taking over Chongqing Tongliang Dragons, the team quickly identified the new head coach Salvador, the former head coach of the Guangzhou team. Meanwhile, the team is also optimizing its first team squad in preparation for the tournament.

Last season, 23 of the team's players left or transitioned, with Wu Qing promoted to first team leader for the new season. Veteran Zhao Hejing returned to the club in a new role after announcing that his contract would not be renewed. GM Li Ping said, "Zhao Hejing's future development is a key consideration for us. We will renew his contract, change his identity and stay with the team. At the same time, we will support him to study for his coaching license and start a new career. In the future, we will organize a retirement ceremony for Zhao Hejing. In the new season, he will continue to play for Chongqing as the club's cultural promotion officer."

The departure ceremony marked the official step towards the new season for Chongqing Tongliang Dragons. Compared with last year, the average age of the team is only 23.7 years old, a young team full of vigor and potential. Looking ahead to the goals of the new season, General Manager Li Ping said, "Striking the top league and standing on the highest stage is not only our pursuit, but also the rightful position of Chongqing, a city with a population of 30 million. But to achieve our goal, we need to be healthy, virtuous and sustainable. We will not invest blindly, and in the 2025 season, we will not only maintain last year's performance, but also strive for the best.

Adhering to the concept of healthy and sustainable development, the club has recently succeeded in renewing the contracts of core players such as Li Zhenquan, Song Pan and Liu Mingshi for another five years, which is not only a recognition of their past contributions, but also a long-term plan for the future development of Chongqing soccer and its players. As the youngest captain of the team, Yu Wang said: "Renewing the contract with the club is a win-win situation. In the future, we will work side by side with the team to push Chongqing soccer to a higher peak."
