Romania
head coach of the national team
Jordañescu, Spain
In an interview with the media after the match against Holland, he commented on the team's performance and future development.
On the performance, Jordaescu said, "Of course it's a bit of a letdown, we wanted more, but we did give everything we had. The players gave everything they had, they played with a serious attitude and were united. This experience is a lesson for us to learn from and it will be a new beginning again in the future."
Speaking about Romania's future outlook, he said, "Romania can do a lot of great things. We have the talent and the potential, and we have to plan for the next generation of kids, who have to draw inspiration from the current generation of players."
Jorda Nescu also thanked the fans for their support and apologized profusely saying, "In the past, we have not shown good spirit and this has hurt the bond between the fans and the team. For eight years we didn't qualify and I felt sad for our fans. Then we came here and the fans have been behind us and I hope we don't forget these moments."
The comments show Jordaescu's identification with the team and confidence in the future, as well as his appreciation and expectations of the fans.
