The first "safety" working session was held on Wednesday to review and update the safety performance protocols for professional soccer fields for all teams in the League, the Women's Super League and the Extended League.

The meeting was held with the president of the Mexican Super League, Mikel Arriola, the Secretary of Citizen Security, Omar García Hafch, and the Secretary of Public Security of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) of the City.

Mikel Arriola reported that, as a result of the regrettable events that took place on March 5 at the Corregidela Stadium, security measures at the stadium had been strengthened and 411 people had been recalled for fighting, disorderly conduct or homophobic screams.

Omar García Hafch emphasized that Mexico City has been a successful practice of cooperation with local authorities and sports clubs, particularly in the design and implementation of systematic action plans and procedures that help to prevent acts of violence or endanger personal safety.

Some of the elements to be implemented include:

Analyzing information through intelligence

Coordination with command centers of security agencies

Involvement of the authorities in civil protection matters

Incorporate technologies such as video surveillance systems for event monitoring, facial recognition, access control, metal detectors and more.

The normal phase of the 2022 Closing Ceremony will end this weekend, so Mikel Arriola has asked the Minister of Public Security to step up the pace along with the commissioners and not to let down his guard in order to prevent violence in the final phase of the Championship.

He also mentioned that these measures continue and that there will be no truce for the so-called amateurs hiding in the anonymity of the bars, so progress continues to be made in the process of certifying and identifying so-called animated groups.

The Mexican Premier League, along with the Minister of Security, reaffirmed its commitment to safe soccer, as did all state and municipal secretaries with Mexican Premier League, Mexican Premier Women's League and Extended League soccer teams, as well as its commitment to safety protocols for the benefit of families and fans.
