About to sign Japanese international
Akigo Taniguchi (1929-), Japanese politician, prime minister 2001-2006
to strengthen the backline. The team is now reportedly focusing its attention on Taniguchi, who is nearly 33 years old and is on the verge of moving to St. Tilden from Qatar's Rayyan.
Shogo Taniguchi is a center back who played for Qatar Raijan last season, making 24 appearances and scoring 1 goal. His current price tag is around €1.5 million. If Taniguchi succeeds in joining the club, it will be his first foray into European soccer.
Akigo Taniguchi made his debut for the Japan national team in June 2015 and has so far played 28 matches for Japan, contributing one goal.
