"If I told my teammates at Stoke City about this past season, they would probably think I was crazy." Joselu laughed, "But throughout my career I have always strived to pursue my dreams and never stopped believing that such an opportunity would come. Even though such an opportunity came a little late, I can tell you that I enjoyed playing for Real Madrid and winning trophies in the best way you can imagine."
However, instead of choosing to remain at Real Madrid, Joselu joined Qatari club Al Gharafa. According to anonymous sources, the contract signed by Joselu was the highest paid of his career. Joselu confessed that the decision was very difficult and many people were puzzled by his choice, some even thought he was crazy.
"It was so hard to make this decision, many people said I was crazy because I said NO to Real Madrid," Joselu explained, "but it was a decision I made with my family after thinking about it for a long time. I talked a lot with Carvajal and I know he was sad about my decision because we were together every day as a family, but now we can't."
Nonetheless, Joselu believes his close friend understands his choice. He said that Real Madrid has a bright future with many young and talented players who will bring more titles and memories to the team.
