The youngest player on the roster is Jacobus Jing, who was born on April 13, 2004, and his inclusion marks the Japanese men's basketball team's investment in future potential. Japan was placed in Group B at the Paris Olympics, where it will compete against the host French men's basketball team, the powerful German men's basketball team and the South American powerhouse Brazilian men's basketball team.
