Still determined to bring in a high-profile player, they have their sights set on Italian striker Mario

Mario Balotelli (1985-), Italian footballer

Body. Corinthians executives are said to have held at least two meetings with Balotelli's representatives, and Balotelli himself is fully aware of the Brazilian club's keen interest in him.

Last season, Balotelli played for Turkey's Demir Sports, scoring seven goals in 16 games. Despite having the option of a one-year contract extension, Demir Sport failed to reach an agreement with Balotelli to extend his contract.

Balotelli, 33, was once a high-profile star in world football and another Brazilian club, Flamengo, had previously been interested in signing him. If Balotelli decides to move to the Brazilian league, he hopes to earn a monthly salary of more than R$1.5 million and expects extras such as signing-on fees and commissions.

This move by Corinthians shows the club's unwillingness to give up the opportunity to improve the team even under financial pressure. The addition of Balotelli will bring more attention and experience to Corinthians, as well as add a new talking point to the Brazilian soccer market.
