Sutalo moved to Dutch giants Ajax from Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb for 20.5 million euros last summer. Despite his short time in Amsterdam, he quickly became a stalwart in the team's backline with his excellent defensive awareness and precise ball striking ability. His contract with Ajax will run until 2028, but that hasn't stopped other clubs from chasing him.

West Ham United, Brighton and Leverkusen are all looking to strengthen their defenses, and Sutalo is undoubtedly the ideal candidate in their eyes. West Ham United in the Premier League last season showed a good fighting strength, but they are eager to further enhance in the defensive end; Brighton is hoping to introduce Sutalo to enhance the overall competitiveness of the team; and Leverkusen, as the Bundesliga's veteran, also hope that the Croatian international to join the team's defense, solid.
