Following France's 1-0 victory over Belgium and their successful progress to the last eight of the UEFA Europa League, the president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Felipe Diallo, was interviewed by the media to give his views on the tournament, the team's performance, the coaching staff and some of the controversial topics of the recent past.

Evaluation of the competition

Diallo spoke highly of France's performance and felt that the team's success in qualifying was well deserved. He noted that despite some missed chances in front of goal, France's overall performance was very solid, taking full control of the game and proving once again the strength of the players. He praised Didier Deschamps for his coaching talents, especially for his substitutions during the game, which successfully helped the team break through the Belgian defense.

Responding to Rabio's comments

Diallo said he was not involved in the debate over Rabio's comments that the game was "boring" but that all that mattered was that it went through to the next level. He emphasized that the fans want the French team to go far in the competition, bringing them moments of unity and joy. Diallo also mentioned that July 14th is France's national holiday and he hopes that the French team will participate in the holiday in the best way possible, bringing more joy and glory to the country and its fans.

Confidence in Deschamps and the coaching team

Diallo has full confidence in Deschamps and his coaching team and believes that they are capable of leading France to continue winning. He mentioned that every match in the Euros is very tough and no team can win easily. Although strong teams such as Italy and Croatia are already out of the tournament, Diallo believes that France is capable of proving itself again in the quarterfinals.

Statement on Mbappe's legislative elections

In response to Mbappe's comments that he wanted the French team to issue a common statement on the legislative elections, Diallo reiterated the position of the French Football Federation. He said that the players have freedom of speech, but the French team as an institution has an obligation of neutrality. He emphasized that the FA's position had not changed as a result of the first round of the election and that he remained committed to that principle.
