"We knew that the Turkish fans would be fully behind their team and that put a lot of pressure on us. But we stayed calm and focused during the game, and despite some sloppiness towards the end of the first half that led to the goal being conceded, we quickly adjusted and turned things around with our will to fight. It's something to be proud of."
Van Dijk was cautiously optimistic about whether the Dutch have played at their highest level. "We can get better, winning and improving is our eternal pursuit. Tonight we will carefully analyze the game footage to find out our strengths and weaknesses and get ready for the next game. I believe we can show a better level of performance in the coming matches as long as we keep our efforts and focus."
