plan to sell their stake in the club, ending their investment in the North East England club.

Staveley played a key role in 2021, helping to broker a major deal for the acquisition of Newcastle United by a consortium led by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF). She and Godusi subsequently became minority shareholders in the club. However, just three years later, the couple decided to pull out and sell their shares.

The decision comes at a time when Staveley is facing financial difficulties. In February of this year, British media outlet The Mirror revealed that Staveley had been accused of defaulting on debts of up to 37 million pounds, which could have led to her being at risk of bankruptcy. Although there is no direct evidence that this financial problem is directly related to their decision to sell their shares, it has certainly increased speculation about their financial situation.

Newcastle United have been seeking a return to the Premier League's top tier since being acquired by a Saudi consortium. The exit of Staveley and Godussie could have an impact on the club's ownership structure and future plans. It is unclear who will be the buyers of their shares and how the change will affect Newcastle United's management and strategic direction.
